Parallel agent workspace

October vs Paradev

Keep your agents, apps, and teammates together on a shared canvas.

Checked · 2 official sources · Read the sources

Paradev, formerly Superset, and October both help people manage existing coding agents rather than replace them with a new model. Paradev builds its workflow around isolated Git worktrees, terminals, diffs, and remote hosts. October puts agents, browsers, apps, and teammates on a shared canvas, with Kanban and code views for other ways to follow the work. The useful choice is the environment you want to supervise every day: a development workspace organized around branches, or a visual workspace organized around the people and agents involved.

Choose October if

  • You want agents, browser previews, apps, and people together on one canvas.
  • You want connected agents to exchange questions and results through Agent Intercom.
  • You want to follow the same work in canvas, Kanban, and code views.

Choose Paradev if

  • Your preferred unit of work is an isolated repository worktree and branch.
  • You want a dedicated diff-and-terminal workflow with links to your existing IDE.
  • You want to script workspace management through Paradev’s CLI, SDK, or MCP.

Start with how you review work

Imagine a frontend change, a backend fix, and a documentation task running together. In October, arrange the agents and their previews on the canvas and connect the sessions that need to exchange context. In Paradev, the natural starting point is a separate worktree for each task, with changes ready for review. Both approaches need human judgment at integration time. Separate working directories reduce interference during development; they do not prove that independently written changes will work together.

A different home for the same agents

Your agent account is a separate choice from your workspace. Both products let you continue with existing coding tools, so there is no reason to frame this as switching from Claude to another model. Try the same modest task in each workspace and inspect the result. Paradev is especially relevant if a terminal and diff are where you make decisions. October is relevant when the review also involves a teammate, a running app, and another agent’s findings.

A few practical questions.

Is Paradev the same product as Superset?

Yes. Its official website identifies Paradev as the new name for Superset. Older tutorials and commands may still use the Superset name. This page covers that product lineage rather than treating the two names as separate competitors.

Do I need to replace my coding agent to use October?

No. October is the workspace around the agents you choose. You retain their accounts and usage terms. Likewise, Paradev documents using existing CLI agents and subscriptions; compare the surrounding workflow rather than assuming either product supplies unlimited model usage.

Which should I try first?

Try Paradev first if isolated worktrees and a focused code-review loop are your main need. Try October if coordinating agents, real apps, and people in a shared visual workspace is the problem you want to solve. Start with one small, reviewable task.
